DIY - Wall cladding with moldings
**Materials and Tools:**
– Styrofoam molding strips
– Measuring tape
– Miter saw and handsaw
– Adhesive for Styrofoam
– Painter’s tape
– Putty
– Sandpaper
– Primer and paint
– Brush and/or paint roller
1. **Planning and Preparation**
First, you need to measure the area on the wall where you want to install the molding strips.
2. **Cutting the Molding Strips**
Cut the molding strips to the required lengths using a miter saw. Make sure to cut the ends at a 45-degree angle so that the corners fit together neatly. If you don’t have a miter saw, you can also use a handsaw.
3. **Installing the Molding Strips**
Apply the Styrofoam adhesive evenly to the back of the molding strips and press them onto the wall. Use painter’s tape to hold the strips in place until the adhesive dries.
4. **Filling and Sanding**
After the adhesive has dried, fill any gaps and transitions with putty. Let the putty dry and then sand the areas smooth.
5. **Priming and Painting**
Prime the molding strips and the wall to ensure the paint adheres better. Then you can paint the molding strips and the wall in the desired color. I chose a classic white, which makes the room look brighter and larger and provides a light background for my videos.
